You've read the Website Reporting Guidelines & FAQ and now you are wondering how you can record your game play to make website reports. If you haven't already read the Website Reporting Guidelines & FAQ, we recommend that you do so to learn the rules around using our web report system.

In this article, we cover how you can use Medal to record in-game to collect your report evidence.

Medal is an all in one program and can be downloaded here. It runs in the background and it can save anywhere from the past 15 seconds to 20 minutes depending on how you configure it.

  1. Start Medal. You will be required to login, or sign up for a Medal account. Use one of the options Medal supplies to create an account or login.

Once you are logged in, you should have a home page that looks similar to below.

  2. In the bottom left corner of Medal, you will want to click Settings to review them and make changes.

Here is a list of settings you may want to review:
  • In the Clips & Recording settings, General Recording, turn on Capture Clips, set the clip length and a hotkey. CaptureClipsSet

  • In the Clips & Recording settings, General Recording, set the Quality you wish to use. You may use one of the presets or setup a custom setup for yourself. CaptureClipsQual

  • In the Clips & Recording settings, Storage Settings, set the Capture Folder Location. This can be located anywhere you like. You may also set a local storage limit here if you wish.

  • In the Cloud & Posts settings, Before Upload, you may also set the default privacy settings for your clips. We recommend that you set this to unlisted for TruckersMP report clipping. BeforeUploadSetting

  4. Once you have trimmed down your video, and made any other edits you wish to make, to the right hand side you can name your clip and change some other settings, such as creating and adding the clip to an album.

  5. Once you are happy, you may now click Post to continue.
You must NOT use the Create Link feature Medal provides, as this causes your clip to expire after a couple of weeks. This will put you at risk of punishment for violating rule 1.4 due to evidence needing to remain available. Please use the Post and Unlisted feature instead.

We recommend that you set visibility to unlisted. You can now click Post to upload. MedalPost2

  6. Once the video is uploaded, if you have automatic links turned on, Medal will add the link to the video to your clipboard. If you don't have automatic links turned on, you can also click Copy Link link below

Once you have obtained all of your evidence, you may submit your report against the other player here using the link Medal provided. If you are unfamiliar with the report system, you can check our other Knowledge Base article How to use the Report System.
