Solutions for common Launcher Errors

In this guide you will find common solutions to some error messages that show when opening the TruckersMP launcher.


Download Update

  1. Press Download Update.

  1. Wait until the download is complete.
  2. Press Installation up-to-date to verify the downloaded files.

  1. Restart the launcher.

Failed to Download Update or Updates download every time the launcher starts

  1. Go to Settings.

  1. Press Browse.
  2. Navigate to a directory of your choice (not where TruckersMP is currently installed, in this case D:\)

  1. Right click > Select New > Click on Folder > Create a folder named TruckersMP.

  1. Click the new folder once to select it.
  2. Press Select Folder.
  3. Press Save.

Failed to Verify Files

  1. Go to Settings.

  1. Press Browse.
  2. Navigate to TruckersMP installation directory (default is C:\ProgramData\TruckersMP)

  1. Click the directory folder once to select it.
  2. Press Select Folder.
  3. Press Save.

Note: It is possible that you will not be able to see the ProgramData folder. In order to see it you must:

  • Press View.

  • Tick the box Hidden items.

If the solution above does not help, do the following:

  1. Go to Settings.

  1. Press Browse.
  2. Navigate to a directory of your choice (Not where TruckersMP is currently installed, in this case D:\)

  1. Right click > Select New > Click on Folder > Create a folder named TruckersMP.

  1. Click the new folder once to select it.
  2. Press Select Folder.
  3. Press Save.

Incorrect Path

  1. Press Settings.

  1. Press Browse (for either ETS 2, ATS or both).
  2. Locate the game files (in this example ETS2).

  1. Click the game folder once to select it.
  2. Press Select Folder.
  3. Press Save.

Updates constantly loading

  1. Head to C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\TruckersMP\installation.

  1. Find the file filecache.dat.

  1. Delete the file and relaunch the launcher.

Windows denied access to the executable - JavaScript error - Failed to create remote thread to load DLL

  1. Right click on TruckersMP-Launcher.exe

  1. Select Run as administrator.
  2. Confirm the pop-up with Yes.
  3. Press Play.

If this solution does not help, it is very likely the issue is caused by a 3rd party antivirus software that is blocking the connection with the game files. If you are using antivirus, I highly recommend uninstalling it completely, restarting your computer and then reinstalling the launcher.


Cannot initialize client core

  1. Select start (windows key) and type Windows Security.

  1. Select the Windows Security app from the search results, head to Virus & threat protection, and under Virus & threat protection’ settings select Manage settings.

  1. Switch Real-time protection to Off.


Cannot create game process" / "Cannot inject core (initialization of client failed)

  1. Go to your Steam library.
  2. Right click on ETS2 / ATS.
  3. Choose Properties and go to the Installed Files tab.

  1. Choose Browse Local files... and a folder with gamefiles is going to open.

  1. Copy the file path of this folder and paste it in the Installation window.
  2. Complete the installation and try to start TruckersMP again.

System.InvalidOperationException "This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms"

Please follow the below steps in order to fix this error message

  1. Press the Windows key and R (Win+r) on your keyboard.
  2. Enter regedit and press enter.

  1. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\FipsAlgorithmPolicy.

  1. Click File and then Export.
  2. Save the file somewhere safe (e.g. on your desktop) as a backup.
  3. Once saved, double click on Enabled.
  4. Set Value data to 0.

  1. Press OK.
  2. Close Registry editor and reboot.

System.Runtime.Interop.Services.COMException 0x80072EE4

Please follow the below steps in order to fix this error message

  1. Make sure you have the latest .Net Framework.
  2. Clean your temp files with CCleaner.
  3. Check your temp files path and make sure it's located at C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache.

If you don't have INetCache folder make a new folder and name it temp and then open the Windows temp settings and choose the new path.
